The Artist

Miguel Franco Botticelli is a professional Filmmaker, Architecture and Art Photographer. In 2012 he graduated as a Filmmaker at the New York Film Academy (NYFA) at the Universal Studios Hollywood, California, USA.

As an Architecture and Art Photographer he specialized in the historic processes of photography, which are hand-crafted. These processes he studied at the George Eastman Museum, Rochester, USA, and also in Germany and they are Carbon Print Process, Wet Plate Collodium, Platinum Palladium Process, Gum Bichromate Process and Bromoil Process. 

He is of German nationality of Spanish/Italian descent; he inherited his love for art from his ancestors. He is particularly interested in the painting of the Early Renaissance and High Renaissance, including the works of Sandro Botticelli, Leonardo da Vinci, Raphael and Tizian.

He has always been fascinated by painting, colors, shapes and light, which motivated him to study painting at the art academy and later graphic design. Due to his passion he additionally studied four semester architecture. This artistic vein led him to photography. 

As well, he loves contemporary art and creates his works in Conceptual Art, Mixed Media and Interdisciplinary Arts (iArts) for collectors and galleries.

2020/2021 Franco Botticelli was invited by the European Cultural Centre (ECC) Italy to present his architectural photographic art work at the 6 month international exhibition “ TIME, SPACE, EXISTENCE ” in Venice, Italy.

His art work series "Timeless Buildings" is exhibited in Palazzo Mora, Venice, Italy.

The biennial architecture exhibition “TIME SPACE EXISTENCE” presents a wide selection of works from architects, photographers, sculptors and universities from all over the world. In addition, projects realized in cooperation with institutions and museums.

2020 LE PRIX DE LA PHOTOGRAPHIE DE PARIS (PX3) Franco Botticelli was awarded with the Bronze Medal with his series: “Scotland – Historic and Beautiful“ in the professional category: Architecture/Historic.

2020 Siena International Photo Award (SIPA) Franco Botticelli was nominated as Finalist in the category Architecture & Urban Spaces with his photo „Culzean Castle“ from his series „Scotland – Historic and Beautiful“.

2020 Moscow International Foto Awards (MIFA) He was honored with his series "Scottland - Historic and Beautiful"in the category Architecture/Buildings, Professional, with Honorable Mentioned. In Addition his photo "Dundrennan Abbey, Scotland" was awarded with Honorable Mentioned in the category Architecture/Buildings, Professional.

2019 Tokyo International Foto Awards (TIFA) He was honored with his series "Scotland - Historic and Beautiful" in the category Portfolio - Fine Art, Professional, with Honorable Mentioned, in addition his photo “Dundrennan Abbey, Scotland” was awarded with Honorable Mentioned in the category Fine Art - Other, Professional.

He was also honored with his series “The Mystic Light of Japan” in the Architecture - Buildings, Professional category with Honorable Mentioned.

2019 Siena International Photo Awards (SIPA) Finalist in Professional Architecture.

2019 International Photography Awards (IPA) Honorable Mentioned Awarded in the category Professional Analog/Film, Other.

2019 LE PRIX DE LA PHOTOGRAPHIE DE PARIS (PX3) Honorable Mentioned Awarded with his series: "Timeless Buildings" in the category: Fine Art/Abstract Professional.

2019 Moscow International Foto Awards (MIFA)  Honorable Mentioned Awarded with his series: "Dreaming Moscow" in the categorie: Architectural Buildings Professional. 

2019 Group Exhibiton at Arte Laguna Prize 2018.19, Venice, Italy. He was nominated as a finalist with his series "The Mystic Light of Japan". 

2008 an individual exhibit, “Havana – A Glimpse into Daily Life”, which was displayed at the Volks- and Raiffeisen Bank in Germany for three month.

From the year 2007 till 2010 he worked with his project “Venice – Classic and Beautiful”, with images which he took for private collectors in Spain and Italy.

In the year 2012, after completing his studies in cinematography at the New York Film Academy at Universal Studios in Hollywood, California, USA, he founded his company Cinema Fotoreisen. Since then he has been leading photo tours and photography workshops in Italy, Spain, France, Japan and the USA
